La Chamana

Our Story

A bridge between hands

La Chamana — "the shaman," the keeper of medicine and story — began as a promise: that the people who make these shoes would be seen, named, and fairly paid.

Carmen Montenegro-Russo, Founder

Carmen founded La Chamana to carry Indigenous Colombian craft into the world without losing the names, the meaning, or the dignity behind it. She built the brand as a bridge — between the artisans who have stitched molas for generations and the people who will wear them.

Every decision La Chamana makes runs through one question: does this honor the makers?

The promises behind the brand

Makers, named. Every pair carries the name of the artisan who made it. No anonymous labor.

Fairly paid. Artisans set their price for their hours, and we build the business around that.

Slow by design. We make fewer pairs, better — the opposite of fast fashion, on purpose.
